Metso to rebuild two paper machines for Shandong Chenming Paper in China

Metso will supply two fine paper machine rebuilds for Shandong Chenming Paper Holdings Limited’s subsidiary mills in China. The total value of the orders is approximately EUR 10 million. The orders are a continuation to Metso’s earlier deliveries to Shandong Chenming Paper. The orders are included in Paper and Fiber Technology’s Q4 of year 2009 orders received.

Stora Enso’s and Arauco’s joint-venture company Montes del Plata chooses Punta Pereira as location for pulp mill feasibility study in Uruguay

Stora Enso’s and Arauco’s joint-venture company in Uruguay, Montes del Plata, has decided to initiate a feasibility study on Punta Pereira as the site for a possible future pulp mill. Punta Pereira was also the site chosen for Spanish pulp maker ENCE’s planned pulp mill. Stora Enso and Arauco acquired the majority of ENCE’s operations in Uruguay in October 2009.

Metso to convert Domtar’s fine paper machine in the USA to fluff pulp production

Metso has been contracted by Domtar Corporation to rebuild their fine paper machine at their Plymouth, North Carolina, USA, mill for fluff pulp production. The rebuild project will be completed in the fourth quarter of 2010. The value of the order will not be disclosed. The value of these types of rebuilds ranges from EUR 15 to 25 million depending on the scope of the delivery. The order is included in Paper and Fiber Technology’s Q4 of year 2009 orders received.
