Sun Chemical Earns Strongest Sustainability Results from NAPIM’s Index Rating for Commercial Sheetfed Inks

Strengthening its position as a sustainability leader in the inks, pigments and coatings industry for its customers, five of Sun Chemical’s commercial conventional sheetfed inks have earned the highest average index ratings in the National Association of Printing Ink Manufacturers’ (NAPIM) bio-renewable content (BRC) certification program to date.

BASF increases prices for polymer dispersions, powders and resins

Effective April 1, 2010, or as contracts allow, BASF will increase prices in Europe, Africa and Western Asia for styrene-acrylic and straight-acrylic dispersions by €180 per metric ton, for styrene-butadiene dispersions by €180 per metric ton and for resins and redispersible polymer powders by €250 per metric ton.

Metso to supply board making technology to Cheng Loong Corporation in Taiwan

Metso will supply board making technology for Cheng Loong Corporation for their new containerboard production line at Hou-Li paper mill in Taiwan. The production line is scheduled to start up in the second quarter of 2011. The value of the order exceeds EUR 20 million. The order is included in Paper and Fiber Technology’s Q1 orders received.

Hexion Specialty Chemicals to Raise Prices for Epoxy Resin Products in the Americas

Effective April 15, 2010, or as contracts allow, Hexion Specialty Chemicals announced it will increase prices of the following Hexion epoxy resins in the Americas. This increase is in addition to any other increase announced previously and is driven by the continued increases in the cost of key raw materials as well as the global and regional shortages of epoxy resins and their precursors.
