KLÖCKNER PENTAPLAST’S NEW RENEWABLE RESOURCE CONTENT TERRAPET APET FILMS SELECTED BY COTY, INC FOR FRAGRANCE PACKAGING

The global beauty company, Coty, has selected Klöckner Pentaplast’s new renewable resource rigid TerraPET films for the packaging of their popular fragrance line for men, Adidas Moves Pulse Cologne. Consisting of up to 30% renewable resource content, Coty uses Pentaform TerraPET film for the same brilliant cosmetic clarity and performance properties as standard APET films while it helps the company meet its sustainable packaging goals. Made in part from sugar cane, Pentaform TerraPET films allow Coty to replace fossil fuel based material with up to 30% plant based material.

Sonoco Announces Paperboard, Tubes and Cores Price Increases

Sonoco (NYSE: SON) will increase prices for all uncoated recycled paperboard grades in the United States and Canada by $30 per ton effective with shipments on Nov. 29, 2010. In addition, the Company announced that it will increase prices on all paperboard tubes and cores in the United States and Canada by 5 percent effective with shipments on Nov. 29, 2010.

Dow Advanced Materials Breaks Ground on New Acrylic, Styrene-Acrylic Polymer Plant in Vietnam

Dow Advanced Materials, a division of The Dow Chemical Company (NYSE: DOW), has broken ground on a new manufacturing facility in Dong Nai Province in southern Vietnam for the production of acrylic and styrene-acrylic polymers used in the paint, coatings, construction, packaging, home and personal care industries. The new plant, scheduled to go on-stream in September 2011, will be shared by three Dow Advanced Materials businesses – Dow Coating Materials (DCM), Dow Building & Construction (DB&C), and Dow Adhesives & Functional Polymers (AFP).
