Momentive Specialty Chemicals Inc. announced today that it will increase the prices for its CARDURA glycidyl ester, ACE hydroxyl acrylate monomer, VEOVA monomers and VERSATIC acids on a global basis effective February 15, 2011, or as contract terms allow.
Metso will supply the Harihar Polyfibers unit of Grasim Industries Limited with a recovery boiler to replace the two existing recovery boilers at the rayon grade pulp mill located in Kumarapatnam, Karnataka state, India. Start-up of the boiler is scheduled for the Q3 of 2012. The value of the order is not disclosed. The order is included in Energy and Environmental Technology’s Q4/2010 orders received.

Momentive Specialty Chemicals Inc., announced today that effective immediately, or as contracts allow, it will increase the price of its AXILAT acrylic and styrene acrylic dispersions by 80/Mt, acrylic dispersions for pressure sensitive adhesives by 100/Mt, vinyl acetate based dispersions by 50/Mt, and styrene butadiene dispersions by 80/Mt.
The Ministry of the Environment and UPM have agreed upon compensation for the Natura 2000 sites and areas designated for protection under national conservation programmes in UPM’s forests in Kainuu, Finland. The State will purchase approximately 380 hectares from UPM for nature protection purposes. The protected areas are situated in Losonvaara in Sotkamo and in Humalalampi in Paltamo. Moreover, UPM has agreed to privately protect approximately 330 hectares of its own land in Kainuu in accordance with the Nature Conservation Act. The total value of the agreement is 3.4 million. Part of the purchase price will be covered by a land exchange procedure.
