LANXESS: Price adjustment for engineering plastics

Specialty chemicals company LANXESS AG is to increase its prices for Durethan Compounds (Polyamide Compounds, PA) and Pocan Compounds (Polybutylenterephthalate Compounds, PBT) in Europe, the Middle East and Africa by at least EUR 0.30 per kilogram effective February 14, 2011.

LANXESS to adjust asset structure in India

Specialty chemicals group LANXESS is taking steps to adjust its asset structure in India. Production facilities in Madurai, Tamil Nadu state, will be relocated to the company’s recently-opened site in Jhagadia, Gujarat state. This will affect facilities manufacturing leather chemicals, material protection products as well as products from Rhein Chemie.

DuPont Teijin Films Awards Grants to VSU Students

The DuPont Teijin Films (DTF) Hopewell plant recently awarded $500 educational grants to three Virginia State University (VSU) engineering students as part of its Annual Day of Celebration commemorating the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The students, Hassan Adams, Christopher Carmichael and Sadé Hill, were a team that competed in an engineering research project contest sponsored by DTF Hopewell.

Wausau Paper Announces Fourth-Quarter, Year-End Financial Results

Wausau Paper (NYSE:WPP) today reported that: Fourth-quarter net earnings were $0.31 per share compared to $0.19 per share a year ago. Excluding special items, adjusted quarterly earnings of $0.14 per share equaled prior-year results.

UPM has launched two new recycled products to its postal range

UPM constantly develops its papers and now has widened its postal product range with two new papers – UPM Poste Recycled Premium, a white recycled paper for envelopes and UPM PrePremium Recycled, a white recycled paper for preprint.
