XAAR PROTON UPTAKE GROWS

Seven leading wide format printer manufacturers in China have chosen the 60 picolitre Xaar Proton inkjet printhead to deliver high-performance display graphics to their customers in China and overseas. Design Digital, LiYu, Zhong Ye, Shenzhen RTZ and Yat Fung have joined Chiting and Wit-Color in adopting the new, premium quality and wide-swathe printhead from Xaar.

Paper Industry: Tangible Recovery After the Crisis – Raw Material Costs Soaring

Thanks to the very good development in terms of volume in 2010, the paper industry has managed extensively to recover from the economic crisis. Dr. Wolfgang Palm, president of the German Pulp and Paper Association, stated at the association’s annual press conference that production and sales had risen over the year by more than 10 per cent to 23.2 million tons.

BASF proposes dividend of €2.20 per share

The Board of Executive Directors of BASF SE has decided to propose to the Annual Meeting on May 6, 2011 a dividend of €2.20 per share for 2010. The decision is subject to approval by the company’s Supervisory Board in its meeting on March 3, 2011.

UPM improves energy efficiency and strives for the best carbon footprint in the industry

During the past two years, UPM has improved energy efficiency significantly by effective process and equipment modifications as well as engaging employees in a global energy-saving campaign. Thanks to these measures, UPM’s electricity and heat consumption has reduced by approximately 9% per paper tonne. In the past two years, UPM has gained a total of EUR 55 million from all its energy savings activities and 7 % reduction in carbon dioxide emissions.
