Cascades Announces Investments of $22 Million in its Folding Carton and Microlithography Operations

Cascades Inc. (TSX: CAS), a leader in the recovery and manufacturing of green packaging and tissue products, announces major investments in several of the folding carton and microlithography plants of its Norampac Division. Thanks to a total investment of $22 Million, the Viau (Montréal, Québec), Mississauga (Ontario), Winnipeg (Manitoba) and Cobourg (Ontario) plants will benefit from the installation of new modern equipement that will optimize their production and efficiency.

Ricoh Develops Photo (UV)-curable Inkjet Ink that Significantly Reduces Allergies on Skin

Ricoh Company, Ltd. (President and CEO: Shiro Kondo, hereinafter “Ricoh”) has developed a photo (UV)-curable inkjet ink (*1) that significantly reduces skin sensitization (*2), which causes allergic dermatitis, such as itching or irritation of skin. The physical burden on people working in the printer industry is expected to fall with no loss in properties of conventional photo-curable ink.

Pfleiderer: Sale of Uniboard completed

Pfleiderer Canada Inc., a subsidiary of Pfleiderer AG (ISIN DE0006764749), has entered into an agreement to sell Uniboard Canada Inc. to a subsidiary of Kaycan Ltd. Uniboard Canada is a North American leader in engineered wood products producing Particleboard, MDF, Thermally Fused Melamin and Laminate Flooring. Closing of the transaction is expected in the third quarter 2012 subject to certain terms and conditions.
