At IPEX 2014 in London, Presstek Introduced JT-BL, an Aluminum Plate that Images on Epson Inkjet Printers

At IPEX 2014 held in London March 24-29, Presstek introduced JT-BL, a metal plate that images on a wide range of Epson inkjet printers using the printer’s original ink cartridges. The JT-BL plate enables for a low-cost, easy-to-use CTP solution with an extremely small footprint. After imaging, plates go directly to press for impressions of up to 5,000, and baking in a standard oven for impressions between 5,000 and 20,000. Visitors to the Presstek stand saw the JT-BL plate being imaged on an Epson 3880 inkjet printer.

Presstek Set to Showcase New Eco-Friendly CTP Plates and Live Demonstrations of its Digital Offset DI Press Solutions at IPEX, March 24-29, 2014

At IPEX 2014 in stand # S3-E290, Presstek is set to unveil three new eco-friendly CTP plate technologies including: Zahara – a plate for waterless press platforms; GemPlate – an open platform no-bake thermal plate that offers pH neutral biodegradable processing; and JT-BL – an aluminum plate designed for inkjet imaging. A Presstek 52DI digital offset 4-colour press will also be featured in the stand as well as Presstek’s expanding portfolio of service options for print shops.

Inplant switches CtP technology but sticks with Heidelberg

Proving that the supplier and its ability to support is as important as the technology, the printing inplant at Draper Tools is switching from a visible light to a thermal Computer to Plate device but sticking with Heidelberg.
