Presstek Promotes John Meyer to Vice President Marketing

Presstek, Inc., a leading supplier of digital offset printing solutions to the printing and communications industries, today announced that John Meyer has been promoted to Vice President Marketing, reporting directly to Chairman, President & CEO Stan Freimuth. Meyer joined Presstek in March of 2010 and has held director-level roles in Presstek’s CTP business. Prior to joining Presstek, Meyer served in a number of sales and marketing roles at Fujifilm USA.

Print-Leeds invests in its labels and plastics operations

Following its acquisition of S&C Labels in Huddersfield earlier this year, Print-Leeds is investing close to £3m in a new press and CtP system from Heidelberg. This move comes ahead of the centralisation of operations in Leeds where a building programme is increasing capacity from 10,000 sq ft to 19,000 sq ft. The press arrives at the end of November and the business transfer will take place over the Christmas break.

St. Galler Tagblatt Is Relying On The New KODAK THERMALNEWS PT Dgital Plate To Print Newspapers And Large Customer Print Runs

While many newspaper printers have only recently started to take advantage of the benefits of thermal CTP technology, St. Galler Tagblatt AG, a company that forms part of the Swiss media group NZZ, can look back on more than ten successful years of working with Kodak’s thermal CTP and plate technologies. At the print centre in St. Gallen’s Winkeln district, the company uses two KODAK GENERATION NEWS Platesetters to image the approximately 320,000 print plates that are used every year for print operations on a six-tower WIFAG press equipped with two folding units. Since March 2012, the company has been using only the new KODAK THERMALNEWS PT Plate.
