Cox Communications announced today that Mark Greatrex has been named senior vice president, chief marketing officer. In this role, he will be responsible for overseeing all marketing activities including customer value management, branding and advertising, research, pricing and bundling, product and competitive marketing, business-to-business marketing, acquisition and retention marketing, and marketing communications. Staples, Inc. (Nasdaq: SPLS) announced today the results for its fourth quarter and fiscal year ended January 29, 2011. Total company sales for the fourth quarter of 2010 increased slightly to $6.4 billion compared to the fourth quarter of 2009. Net income for the fourth quarter of 2010 increased 17 percent year over year to $275 million, and diluted earnings per share, on a GAAP basis, increased 19 percent to $0.38 from the $0.32 achieved in the fourth quarter of last year.
