(Securities code: 8060, listed on the First Section of the Tokyo Securities Exchange), decided at its Board of Directors meeting held today, to acquire shares of common stock in ELK CORPORATION (Securities code: 9833, listed on the Second Section of the Osaka Securities Exchange) through tender offer as described in the attached document.

Danaher Reports Record First Quarter 2011 Results

Danaher Corporation (NYSE: DHR) announced today that net earnings from continuing operations for the quarter ended April 1, 2011 were $420.2 million, or $0.61 per share on a diluted basis, a 42% increase as compared to diluted net earnings from continuing operations per share for the first quarter 2010, and a 33% increase as compared to adjusted diluted net earnings from continuing operations per share for the first quarter 2010.
