Bertelsmann Acquires Smashing Ideas

Bertelsmann has acquired the U.S. digital media agency Smashing Ideas, Inc. for its book division, Random House. Random House Chairman and CEO Markus Dohle and Smashing Ideas President and CEO Stephen Jackson, announced the acquisition in New York on May, 5th. The companies did not give details of the purchase price.

Cox Media Group Ohio Names Julia Wallace as Market Vice President

Media industry veteran Julia Wallace is Cox Media Group (CMG) Ohio’s new Market Vice President, effective immediately. Wallace, who was formerly CMG Ohio’s Senior VP of News and Programming, will be responsible for all of the company’s newspaper, television and radio properties in the Dayton and Louisville markets. She succeeds Alex Taylor, who was promoted to CMG Executive Vice President based in Atlanta earlier this year.
