Printing Industries of America launched Print Powers America this morning, a major industry-wide initiative committed to collectively voicing the tremendous economic influence, consumer impact, and environmental stewardship made possible by print and packaging companies across the country. Spearheaded by Printing Industries of America (PIA), this multi-faceted advocacy initiative combines lobbying, grassroots action, and public affairs to promote and protect the printing and graphic communications industry.

EFI Strengthens Leadership Team with Three Key New Hires

Electronics For Imaging, Inc. (Nasdaq:EFII) has completed three additions to its Silicon Valley-based senior leadership team. Gene Zamiska, the former senior vice president of finance, corporate controller and chief accountant for Verifone, is joining EFI this month as the companys new chief accounting officer (CAO). Another veteran accounting executive, Mark Allred, has joined EFI as the companys new vice president of corporate accounting. EFI has also hired Jill Norris, a long-time mobile industry tech leader, as its new chief information officer (CIO).

Sappi Limited: Acquisition of Cham Paper is credit positive for Sappi

On 28 February, Sappi Limited (Sappi, Ba2 positive) announced that it concluded the acquisition of Cham Paper Group (Cham) for a total consideration of CHF147 million (an equivalent of around US$150 million), implying roughly 6x EBITDA multiple. This is credit positive for Sappi, because it will strengthen Sappis position in profitable and growing specialty papers, thus diversifying the group further beyond structurally declining coated woodfree (CWF) paper. In addition, we expect the purchase price to be paid from internal sources, so the acquisition will lead to deleveraging on gross debt basis.
