Koenig & Bauer with 10.2% higher order intake
2019 started well for the Koenig & Bauer group, posting a double-digit increase in order intake in the first quarter year-over year to 276.4m. This strong growth, which exceeded the industry average, was underpinned by significantly more orders for services and for folding carton, direct glass and security printing presses.

Heidelberg achieves targets for 201819 – growing economic risks slow down growth
Following a strong end to financial year 201819 (April 1, 2018 to March 31, 2019), Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) achieved its operating targets. After submitting preliminary figures that have yet to be audited, group sales were reported at 2,490 million, or approximately 3 percent higher than the previous year (2,420 million). Furthermore, the companys operating profit margin based on EBITDA excluding restructuring result was within the target range, at 7.2 percent (previous year 7.1 percent).

The 6th drupa Global Trends Report shows that the global print industry as a whole is in a stable condition
Globally 40% of printers stated their company economic condition was good in 2018 versus 13% who described their condition as poor, the rest were satisfactory. This gives a positive net balance of 27%. For Suppliers the positive net balance was 19%. Both groups remain optimistic with c.50% expecting things to be better in 2019.

Xerox Names Anne Marie Squeo SVP, Chief Communications and Brand Officer
Xerox announced Anne Marie Squeo has joined the company as senior vice president, chief communications and brand officer, overseeing all aspects of global communications and marketing. In this newly created role, she reports to John Visentin, Vice Chairman and CEO of Xerox, and is a member of the companys Executive Committee.
