Lexmark announces pricing of debt offering and increase in share repurchase authorization

Lexmark International, Inc. (NYSE:LXK) announced today that it priced yesterday an aggregate of $650 million of fixed rate senior unsecured notes. The notes are split into two tranches of five- and ten-year notes, respectively.

HP Reports Second Quarter 2008 Results

— Second quarter net revenue up 11%, or $2.7 billion, from a year earlier to $28.3 billion — Second quarter GAAP operating profit up 22% to $2.6 billion; $0.80 earnings per share, up from $0.65 a year earlier — Second quarter non-GAAP operating profit up 22% to $2.8 billion; $0.87 earnings per share, up from $0.70 a year earlier — Record cash flow from operations of $4.8 billion — $2.8 billion of share repurchases

Stora Enso divests power plant and real estate in the Netherlands

On 4 October 2006 Stora Enso announced its intention to close its Berghuizer Mill at Wapenveld in the Netherlands. Paper production at the mill ceased in October 2007 and the main machinery will be scrapped.

VERDIGRIS INITITATIVE TO EVALUATE THE TRUE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT OF PRINT

Digital Dots, the graphic arts research group, has launched the ‘Verdigris’ research initiative designed to understand the environmental impact of print. The goal is to evaluate the carbon footprints of a wide of range media products from the point of file creation via prepress to final output on paper or screen to disposal.
