DuPont has named BC Chong as vice president and general manager – DuPont Automotive OEM Coatings, succeeding Marty M. McQuade who plans to retire later this year following 31 years of service.

Smurfit-Stone Chairman and CEO Patrick J. Moore Calls for Diverse Dialogue on Sustainable Forests and Climate Change

In a speech today before the deans of leading university forestry resource programs, Smurfit-Stone Container Corporation Chairman and CEO Patrick J. Moore called for dialogue involving “the broad forest community” to ensure sustainable forests are fully considered in any climate change negotiations. Moore spoke to a regional meeting of the National Association of University Forest Resources Programs (NAUFRP) in St. Louis.

Staples’ Offer for Corporate Express Obtains Regulatory Clearance in the European Union

Staples, Inc. (Nasdaq: SPLS) announced today that it has obtained clearance from the European Commission with respect to its outstanding offer for Corporate Express N.V. The Commission’s decision to not oppose the transaction constitutes the final regulatory clearance requirement for the offer and satisfies the regulatory condition provided in Staples Acquisition B.V.’s Offer Memorandum published on May 19, 2008, as amended. Staples previously announced that it had also received regulatory clearance in the United States and Canada.
