Crown Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:CCK) announced that Thomas A. Kelly, 49, has been promoted to Senior Vice President and Corporate Controller and will report to Timothy J. Donahue, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. In addition to his current responsibilities for the Company’s internal and external financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, Mr. Kelly will be responsible for the Company’s tax department.

Hönle continues to improve revenue and earnings

According to preliminary figures, the Hönle Group (SIC 515710) saw a significant increase in both revenues and earnings in financial year 2007/2008 with sales revenues rising by 85.7 % to T 48,744 in comparison with the previous years period. Earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) improved 29.7 % to T 5,627 while earnings before tax (EBT) grew by 18.9 % to T 5,904. Consolidated net income for the year rose by 44.0 % and amounted to T 4,561.

POLESTAR PETTY TO REDUCE CAPACITY

Polestar has announced its intention to stop production on two presses at Polestar Petty in Leeds, with the loss of 52 jobs. A period of consultation will commence with local union representatives and employees. The decision has been taken as part of Polestar’s ongoing review of its print capacity.
