Friesland Foods and Campina are to merge. On Wednesday afternoon of 17 December 2008, the General Meeting of Friesland Foods and the Members’ Council of Campina decided to merge. Earlier today the European Commission approved the merger subject to the divestiture of some of the fresh dairy activities in the Netherlands, one cheese production plant in the Netherlands and two long-life dairy drink brands in the Netherlands and Belgium.
