The British Pharmacopoeia 2009 is legally effective in the UK from 1 January 2009
Since 1864, the British Pharmacopoeia (BP) has been providing authoritative official standards for pharmaceutical substances and medicinal products. Published annually, and used in over 100 countries worldwide, the BP contains over 3,200 monographs for pharmaceutical substances, formulated preparations and other articles used in the practice of medicine.
