Axel Springer AG is in final negotiations on the disposal of its stake in several regional newspapers in North and East Germany.
Agreement will cover intellectual property contained in printers and multifunctional products, including certain Linux-based technologies.
Axel Springer AG sells its investments in the newspapers Leipziger Volkszeitung (50 percent), Lübecker Nachrichten (49 percent), Kieler Nachrichten (24.5 percent) and its stake in the north German holding company Hanseatische Verlags-Beteiligung (23 percent) to the publishing group Verlagsgruppe Madsack. At the same time, Lübecker Nachrichten will acquire Axel Springer AGs stake in Rostocks Ostsee-Zeitung (50 percent). The total volume of these transactions is 310 milion.
