Canon Europe, leader in imaging solutions, today extends congratulations to Mads Nissen, photographer of the winning World Press Photo of the Year 2014. The winning image shows Jon and Alex, a gay couple, during an intimate moment in St Petersburg, Russia. The picture is part of a larger project entitled “Homophobia in Russia” shot for Scanpix. Nissen’s photo also claimed first prize in the Contemporary Issues category.

International Paper Company (NYSE: IP) announced the election of Ambassador William J. Burns to its Board of Directors effective February 11, 2015. Ambassador Burns, age 58, is President of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, the oldest international affairs think tank in the United States. Ambassador Burns served in the U.S. Department of State as Deputy Secretary of State from 2011 to 2014, as Under Secretary for Political Affairs from 2008 to 2011, and as Ambassador to Russia from 2005 to 2008, among many other posts during his 33 years in the Foreign Service.
drupa, the world’s leading trade fair for print and cross-media solutions, will switch to a three-year cycle after 2016, when it runs from 31 May to 10 June. This decision was taken by the drupa committee at today’s meeting in Dusseldorf.
