New, long-term incentive plan for Metso’s key management

The Board of Directors of Metso Corporation approved today a new, share-based incentive plan for the Metso Group management (Metso Share Ownership Plan 2010-2012). The Plan is continuation of the 2008 approved program targeting to align the goals of the company’s shareholders and key executives in the Group in order to enhance the value of the company. It also aims to ensure the commitment of key management and to offer them a competitive, ownership-based reward scheme.

Krones publishes its nine-month report for 2009

Business is being hit by the worldwide financial crisis. In the year’s first nine months, sales fell by 22.8 % to 1,364.0 million euros, while pretax earnings were at minus 26.9 million euros. Krones is targeting a break-even result in the year’s final quarter.

The New York Times Company Names Christopher M. Mayer Publisher of the Boston Globe and Head of the New England Media Group; Mr. Mayer Will Succeed P. Steven Ainsley, Who is Retiring

The New York Times Company announced today that Christopher M. Mayer, senior vice president for circulation and operations at The Boston Globe, has been named publisher of that paper and head of the New England Media Group. He succeeds P. Steven Ainsley, who is retiring at the end of the year. Mr. Mayer’s appointment is effective January 1, 2010.

Intended Closure of Sappi Usutu Pulp Mill and Restructuring of Forestry Business in Swaziland in Response to Market Conditions and Forest Fire Damage

In response to adverse market conditions, as well as the cumulative severe impact of fire damage over the past few years, in particular the fires of August 2008 which destroyed 40% of the Usutu timber crop, it has become apparent that the Sappi Usutu Pulp Mill is no longer sustainable.
