Photo book software specialist, TAOPIX, has appointed Alex Granat as its new Commercial Director for Europe. Mr Granat, who officially joined the company on 15th March 2010, will be primarily responsible for increasing sales of the companys flagship TAOPIX Photobook software right across the continent, expanding the companys European dealer channel and developing OEM relationships.
Tom Bratlie, vice president in charge of corporate communications, has decided to leave Norske Skog. He takes on a similar position with the Norway-based oil and gas company DNO International.

For its environmentally conscious design and features, Transcontinental Northern California, which opened in July 2009 in Fremont, California, has been awarded LEED Silver certification for new construction by the U.S. Green Building Council. Transcontinental built the 338,000-square-foot printing plant to print the San Francisco Chronicle and related products under an exclusive 15-year contract with Hearst Corporation.

Walsworth Publishing Company’s manufacturing facility in Marceline, Missouri, has been qualified as a G7 Master Printer. The company was assisted by Printing Industries of America, who helped implement the G7 Methodology and facilitated the process of becoming qualified.
