Fujifilm outlines its Graphic Arts strategy at drupa 2016

FUJIFILM Corporation (President: Shigehiro Nakajima) has announced its strategy for the company’s Graphic Arts business, which will form the basis of its presence at drupa 2016, being held in Dusseldorf, Germany from 31st May to 10th June. Under the slogan “Value from Innovation”, Fujifilm will outline how its wide ranging technologies will add value to print operations in the commercial, wide format and packaging market segments, and will explain its vision relating to the digital evolution of print production.

Epson to Invest 20 Billion Yen in New Factory at Hirooka Office to Triple Inkjet Printhead Production Capacity

Seiko Epson Corporation (TSE: 6724, “Epson”) will invest approximately 20 billion yen in a new factory at its Hirooka Office in Shiojiri, Japan. The new factory, which is part of the company’s strategic plans for its printing solutions (inkjet printer) business, will produce state-of-the-art PrecisionCore printheads, the core devices in Epson’s inkjet printers. Equipped with a research and development function, the factory will have 49,000 square meters of floor space. Construction is scheduled to begin in the summer of 2016, and operations are expected to start in the first half of the 2018 fiscal year. Epson will conduct R&D and drive advances in production engineering and other areas at the facility, which, in the future, will roughly triple Epson’s current printhead production capacity.

Industry leaders to host events for North American label market

A group of label industry leaders (that cover a broad spectrum of aspects related to self-adhesive label production) will present a series of events called “Securing a Successful Future.” Presented by Flint Group Narrow Web, Label Traxx, Mark Andy, ThermoFlexX and Xeikon, this seminar series will educate label printers and packaging converters about key developments in the North American label market. Five events are scheduled to take place in regional locations throughout the U.S. and Canada starting in April.

Fujifilm outlines its largest presence at drupa 2016 under the slogan “Value from Innovation”

FUJIFILM Corporation (President: Shigehiro Nakajima) has announced that it will occupy a 2,020 m2 booth in Hall 8b at drupa 2016 (Dusseldorf, Germany, May 31st – June 10th, alongside a smaller booth in Hall 1 to support the company’s Heidelberg partnership, which in combination, represents the company’s largest drupa presence to date. Under the slogan “Value from Innovation”, the company will be showcasing technologies and solutions that add value to print operations in the commercial, wide format and packaging market sectors.

Q.I. Press Controls lands major order from Chinese printer

The Dutch specialist in measurement and control systems for the printing industry, Q.I. Press Controls (QIPC), is set to intensify its partnership with China-based Hunan Xinhua. In addition to the QIPC equipment already installed on its book and newspaper presses, Hunan Xinhua has now placed an order for two mRC-3Ds for automatic colour register on its new Goss book printing press. The two mRC-3Ds will be fitted with Ink Mist Shield (IMS) and a new folder will also be installed in the printing plant, which is located in the south-western city of Shaoyang.

Avery Dennison Materials Group names Hassan Rmaile global vice president, R&D

Avery Dennison Corporation (NYSE:AVY) has announced the appointment of Hassan Rmaile as the global vice president of R&D for its Materials Group effective immediately. He replaces Sjaak Elmendorp, who will be retiring from the company after 22 years of valued service.
