PC control for injection moulding and blow moulding machines

At K 2010, the international trade show for plastic and rubber which will take place between 27 October and 3 November in Düsseldorf, Beckhoff will demonstrate its PC- and EtherCAT-based control solutions for plastic machines and introduce a new turnkey solution for injection moulding machines. The Beckhoff control architecture is based on tried and tested PC control technology and supports servo-electric, hybrid and hydraulic drive concepts.

Swedish-Eritrean Journalist Awarded 2011 Golden Pen of Freedom

Dawit Isaak, a founder of Eritreas first independent newspaper who has been imprisoned for the past nine years without charge or trial, has been awarded the 2011 Golden Pen of Freedom, the annual press freedom prize of the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN-IFRA).

Graph Expo 2010: Alwan Records Best Sales at a Show Since drupa 2008 with 28% Revenue Increase

GraphExpo 2010 proved a huge success for Alwan Color Expertise, with the company registering its best trade show sales since Drupa 2008. The exhibition helped the French software innovator record a 28% year-on-year revenue increase. The companys flagship products, CMYK Optimizer ECO, which includes the unique Dynamic Ink Optimization technology, and PRINT Standardizer, which includes the unique Dynamic Press Calibration technology, accounted for more than 15 of the on-show and post-show sales.

Stora Enso appoints Terhi Koipijärvi as head of its new Global Responsibility function

Stora Enso is establishing a new Global Responsibility function and has appointed Terhi Koipijärvi, M.Sc. (Forest Products Marketing), 43, as head of the new entity. She has most recently been Senior Vice President, Environmental Affairs and Corporate Responsibility, at Metsäliitto Group.
