Skandacors Full Finishing Floor Draws Crowds at PRINTING United Expo 2026
Tuesday 29. September 2026 - Skandacor wrapped up PRINTING United Expo 2026 after three days of live demonstrations, customer conversations, and hands-on discussions around print finishing and embellishment. With multiplesystems running across lamination, digital foil, embellishment, die cutting, and trimming, Skandacor gave attendees a firsthand look at what finishing can add beyond the press.
The booth was designed to show more than individual machines. Visitors could follow printed pieces through different finishing processes and see how multiple technologies can work together to create new applications, streamline production, and add more value to the print already coming off their presses.
The full floor was the draw
The equipment on display covered a range of finishing applications, with several systems drawing strong interest throughout the show. The FINISHpro 3D 1623 drew steady attention with its raised textures, dimensional spot UV, and digital foil capabilities on sheets up to 16″ × 23″, while the LAMpro Cheetah S15 also attracted a steady crowd. The FINISHpro 2029 AF Max demonstrated digital die cutting for specialty and shape-cut applications.
The Madrid cards quickly became one of the booth’s conversation starters. Attendees would stop to examine the finished pieces, then turn to the team with questions about the processes behind the samples, including how digital foil and lamination could be applied to their own production.
Rather than focusing on specifications alone, the demonstrations gave attendees a chance to see the finished results and connect those applications to the equipment producing them.
A stop on the Embellishment Technology Tour
Skandacor’s booth was also a featured stop on the Embellishment Technology Tour, powered by Taktiful in strategic collaboration with PRINTING United Alliance. As part of the Digital Production track, tour groups came through the booth to see the finishing systems and applications firsthand.
The proFX package generated particularly strong interest during the tour, with attendees stopping to ask questions and take a closer look at the applications. Several returned to the booth after completing the tour, giving the Skandacor team an opportunity to answer more detailed questions about the technology and its capabilities.
The return traffic was particularly notable because it extended the conversation beyond the scheduled tour stop. Attendees who had initially seen the proFX package as part of the guided tour came back with additional questions and spent more time with the Skandacor team.
“The response at the show reinforced something we’ve seen for some time: print businesses are looking for more ways to get value out of the work they’re already producing. Whether that’s through embellishment, specialty finishing, or bringing another process in-house, the interest is there. Our job is to help them figure out what makes sense for their operation.” Brad Drever • CEO of Skandacor
What printers asked about
Conversations at the booth moved beyond individual equipment demonstrations and toward how finishing could fit into print shops’ existing production. Discussions touched on different applications, the capabilities of individual systems, and how processes such as embellishment, lamination, and digital die cutting could be combined. The strong booth traffic also translated into business opportunities, with Skandacor representatives closing several deals during the show and continuing discussions with attendees after the event.
One theme that came through was the potential to bring more finishing work in-house. Seeing the finished samples alongside the equipment made those possibilities more tangible, from premium embellished pieces to specialty and short-run work.
These application-focused conversations also gave the Skandacor team a chance to better understand what attendees were looking to produce and discuss which technologies could support those applications.
“Printing United always enables Skandacor to gain a better understanding of our clients’ specialty applications and creative embellishment aspirations. We can then demonstrate our machinery live and showcase what can be achieved with various applications. It also provides clarity through real-time discussions about the creative print embellishments Skandacor equipment can bring to their production floor and product offering.” Jon Congdon • President of Skandacor
