Duraluxe Introduces Sublimation Steel for Changeable Photo Tiles, Magnetic Displays and More

Friday 04. September 2026 - Duraluxe today introduced a new sublimation-ready steel panel designed to make printed displays changeable. Its magnet-receptive surface lets print providers move beyond a single, static metal print and create products customers can add to, rearrange, personalize and update over time.

With an array of opportunities spanning personalized photo products and functional decor, modular photo-tile systems are among the most compelling. Small, repositionable magnetic mounting points can be placed on the wall once, allowing vibrant sublimated steel photo tiles to attach directly to them. Customers can begin with a few favorite images, build the display as memories grow, rearrange the composition or refresh it with new photographs, seasonal images and coordinated artwork. Tiles can even be layered and changed without replacing the entire installation – creating an ongoing reorder opportunity for print providers.

For the home decor and personalization markets, Duraluxe Steel opens the door to products designed around everyday celebrations. A beautifully printed base can remain on display while customers switch oversized magnetic accents for birthdays, new babies, the first day of school, holidays and changing seasons. The same surface can become a personalized family command center, custom calendar, chore chart, magnetic photo board or dry-erase planner – combining colorful design with information that changes from day to day.

Education and healthcare environments can use the steel panels to create durable, easy-to-update writable boards with permanent sublimated graphics. Classroom schedules, learning goals and student markers can move as the day changes, while healthcare teams can update patient details, care-team information and room status without covering or reprinting the branded design. Additional opportunities include workplace planning boards, directories, room identification, retail displays, menu boards and visual-management tools.

The 0.025-inch steel panels are available now in Duraluxe Satin, a low-glare finish suited to interior environments. They can be cut on a CNC router and use the same sublimation instructions as Duraluxe aluminum, allowing current metal-print producers to add the product without learning a new transfer process. The powder-coated surface delivers rich, vibrant images and is engineered to resist chipping, flaking and delamination. For indoor display, Duraluxe imagery is designed to remain vibrant for up to 100 years.

Duraluxe will feature the steel panels and photo-tile application concepts at Printing United Expo, September 23-25, 2026, at the Las Vegas Convention Center in booth C3015.
