Direct One with World-First Investment in Next-Generation Direct Mail Technology

Thursday 03. September 2026 - Direct One, a leading Florida-based direct mail and print production company, has become the first company in the world to put EMT Internationals new Vira CS1 cut-to-stack solution into production, marking another major investment in the companys growing national production platform.

The investment marks another step in Direct One’s continued growth and follows the recent installation of the RICOH Pro VC80000 Continuous Feed Inkjet Printer, the first of its kind in the Southeastern United States. Together, the technologies expand Direct One’s ability to execute increasingly sophisticated, high-volume direct mail programs with greater speed, flexibility and efficiency.

For Direct One customers, the investment means greater freedom to think bigger about direct mail. Expanded capacity and faster production allow Direct One to move high-volume campaigns from idea to mailbox more quickly, while greater flexibility across formats, paper stocks and campaign configurations gives customers more options to bring their ideas to life. And as their programs grow, Direct One has the capacity to scale with them, helping customers build the campaign that best serves their goals rather than designing around production limitations.

“Our customers are trusting us with bigger and more complex direct mail programs, and we’re investing ahead of that demand,” said Evan Stewart, CEO of Direct One. “Being the first in the world to put this technology into production is exciting, but the real advantage is what it gives our customers: more options, faster execution and the confidence that we can scale with them.”

The EMT Vira CS1 complements Direct One’s RICOH Pro VC80000, which significantly expanded the company’s high-speed variable-data printing capabilities. The addition of advanced finishing technology creates a more integrated production environment where highly personalized campaigns can move from print through finishing more efficiently and with fewer manual processes.

The investments are part of Direct One’s broader strategy to build one of the country’s most advanced direct mail operations while supporting more of the direct mail lifecycle under one roof, including strategy, creative, data services, print production, mailing, fulfillment, campaign tracking and reporting.

As consolidation continues across the commercial print and direct mail industries, Direct One is expanding its capacity and capabilities to serve organizations looking for a stable, long-term partner capable of handling increasingly complex programs nationwide.

Designed, engineered, and manufactured by EMT in Green Bay, Wisconsin, the Vira CS1 is a next-generation finishing platform designed for direct mail, transactional, commercial and publishing applications. The system is highly adaptive, with broad substrate and format flexibility, and operates at initial speeds up to 525 feet per minute, which will soon be enhanced to 800 feet per minute.

The installation represents another milestone in Direct One’s long-term commitment to investing in the technology and infrastructure needed to help customers execute larger, faster and more sophisticated direct mail campaigns with confidence.
