ECO3s economical, ecological and extra convenient mission echoes with Kailow
Wednesday 02. August 2023 - Certified and proven sustainability is a top priority for Kailow Group in Denmark. For over 30 years, the company has partnered with ECO3 (formerly Agfa Offset Solutions) to maintain its leading position and deliver sustainable print with care.
Kailow Group is one of Denmarks largest print, communication, marketing, design and media production companies.
Its main facility in Rødovre produces a wide variety of printed materials, point-of-sale displays, and packaging solutions using offset and digital presses, as well as wide-format inkjet printers and plotters.
All products, displays and marketing collateral are manufactured according to the PRINT MED OMTANKE (PRINT WITH CARE) philosophy. Devised by Kailow Group, this initiative aims to set the highest standards in the certified sustainable production of print and packaging.

Using Apogee as a production hub
Among the ECO3 solutions Kailow Group rely on, is Apogee Prepress software, which manages the print production workflow centrally by connecting, automating, and optimizing each step in the process. The solution includes Apogee Digital Print Link and Apogee Wide-Format Link for driving the companys digital presses and wide-format engines. Meanwhile, at the customer-facing end, Apogee StoreFront automatically downloads and processes orders from the online portal, which are sent directly to the optimal press.
“The Apogee workflow centralizes and automates the entire prepress operation, and it is an incredibly flexible solution that can cope with anything we throw at it. Two of our three plotters and both our digital presses are connected to Apogee. The great thing is that jobs from StoreFront are fully prepared for the output device, requiring hardly any manual intervention. So, all the steps from when the customer buys online until its ready to print on the digital press happen automatically.”
To increase quality control, the company has also implemented ECO3 PressTune software, a print management tool that drives consistency, productivity, and the ability to print to exacting standards. With PressTune, operators can easily generate print quality reports for brand owners in packaging and commercial print for remote quality assurance.
