High-quality papers for maximum visual impact

Friday 26. May 2023 - At FESPA Global Print Expo 2023, taking place in Munich from 23 to 26 May, Sappi, the leading supplier of sustainable wood fibre products, will be showcasing an exclusive selection of its high-quality papers in Hall B1, Stand C45.

Under the motto “Maximise the visual impact of your products”, the focus is on sublimation papers, corrugated papers and silicone-based papers for a variety of self-adhesive applications.
– Sublimation papers with improved qualitative properties
– Fusion Embossed – a new addition to Sappi’s liner product range
– Liner papers with exceptional siliconisation properties
FESPA is Europe’s leading trade fair for screen and digital printing as well as large format and textile printing – and thus an important meeting point for the industry. In Hall B1, Stand C45, visitors will have the opportunity to experience Sappi’s high-quality paper range in person and find out about the many different applications. There will be four lounge areas at the stand where in-depth discussions can be held. Claudia Pöckl, Marketing Communications Specialist at Sappi Europe, explains the motto of this year’s fair: “We have chosen the theme ‘Maximise the visual impact of your application’, which clearly expresses what our papers from the three product areas we are presenting have in common and what they have to offer. With a high standard of quality, we ensure that our customers’ end products have the best possible visual impact.”
Sublimation papers for digital transfer printing
In the field of transfer printing, Sappi has always offered its customers a wide range of sublimation papers specially developed for fast and uniform ink transfer with minimal ink consumption.
With the help of various sample papers and printed end products, visitors to the fair will be able to see the advantages for themselves.
Sappi maintains the high quality of its sublimation papers by regularly investing in new, state-of-the-art technologies. At the end of April, a new warehouse was opened at the Carmignano plant in Italy. In the coming months, Sappi will also invest in two new converting machines with widths of 1.9 metres and 3.2 metres, as well as a fully automated packaging line. All investments support Sappi’s vision to offer a complete in-house solution for the sublimation industry, to have a positive impact on CO2 emissions, to meet the increased demand from its customers and to further improve delivery times.
Corrugated board papers
Sappi offers a high-quality portfolio of coated and uncoated liner papers for coating corrugated and solid board, for example for packaging or displays. With their printing and visual advantages such as exceptional brightness, high whiteness, noble, glossy surface and reliable dimensional stability, the papers of the Fusion series ensure an exceptionally high impact in corrugated applications at the POS and at the same time support the brand strategies of the manufacturers. At the trade fair in Munich, Sappi will be showing its brand new addition to the portfolio: Fusion Embossed, an embossed version of the well-known Fusion Topliner and Fusion Nature Plus variants.
Silicone-based papers as backing paper for self-adhesive applications
A third product group at this year’s FESPA is Sappi’s silicone base papers or release liners, which are used as backing paper for self-adhesive applications such as indoor and outdoor advertising, automotive films, adhesive tapes, office materials and architectural and building signage. Sappi will focus on its CCK papers with exceptional lay-flat properties and its glassine papers at the show. They offer excellent siliconisation properties as well as easy and efficient converting, ensuring optimal separation between the backing paper and the respective material on the front side. Sappi’s latest CCK development, SOL BCK (Barrier Coated Kraft), will also be presented. The result: a perfectly flat paper that could replace a PCK paper.
