Barberan unveils DeepBlue Technology

Thursday 25. May 2023 - Unilin and Barbern showcased at Ligna the new DeepBlue EIR technology at Barberns booth. The single-pass digital printing with its JetMaster press enables companies to realise new possibilities in floor coverings and laminates.

The new Jetmaster for printing on panels can print with speeds at up to 80 meters per minute and a width up to 420 mm for roll to roll substrates.
There are optional widths of 210, 690, 840, 1260, 1750, 1890 and 2100 mm available. The Jetmaster standard colour model is CMYK with a possibility to have up to 6 additional colours (Light Cyan, Light Magenta or Light Black, Orange, Violet or White).
As there is no contact with the substrate and thanks to the UV inks, Jetmaster can print on practically any surface, including slightly irregular surfaces, depending on the tolerance and process.
The digital printing and finishing line for PVC/ABS edgebands offers high performance digital printing and finishing line for PVC / ABS edgeband material in rolls.
This Single-Pass UV 6 colour digital printing line offers an expanded colour spectrum that faithfully reproduces designs of any type: wood, marble, etc.
The high speed edgeband finishing line is ready for gloss or matte UV finish to give high wear resistance to the printed surface.
It uses a primer. The line applies 3 consecutive layers with UV curing inbetween to achieve a perfect adhesion with the inks. This technology forsees cooling groups to adjust the temperature of the material during the application. This line is equipped with Jetmaster 210 – a 6 colour installation (CMYK + light Cyan and light Magenta) for printing with smooth gradients and a wide chromatic range, which is ideal for the reproduction of wood, marble, stone and other designs.
The UV finishing product is applied by roller and can be both matte and glossy. The line has two consecutive finishing groups for the application of one or the other, according to production requirements and without the need for stops. After UV curing, the material passes, again, through a cooling chamber for subsequent winding.
“I like innovation that matters and I believe this innovation will be a breakthrough. Digital printing is not just another manufacturing technique — its creating value for the whole business,” Bart Van der Stockt, president, Unilin Technologies, shared with FCW here at the event.
