Looks like glass: A practical solution for kitchen splashbacks

Thursday 30. March 2023 - The print media manufacturer from Porta Westfalica has introduced a solution for rollable back walls with a real glass look. The panel material for wall applications can be used as a washable splashback or hard-wearing rear wall in the kitchen or bathroom.

Protective films Protect glass from com2C
The “Protect glass” protective laminate is said to score with maximum durability and an authentic glass look. The customer can choose between two surfaces: the high-gloss version looks deceptively similar to reflective real glass, while the matt version is particularly easy to clean and haptically interesting thanks to an anti-fingerprint coating.
An alternative to back panels made from glass or Alu-Dibond
Porta Westfalica is convinced that the combination of a self-adhesive print medium and the Protect glass protective film is a real alternative to glass rear walls and Alu-Dibond.
“Individual glass rear walls are trendy and look great – but the transport is a medium disaster and the installation with socket cut-outs requires a specialist. With our solution, you produce customised back walls for your customers that are as light as they are robust and can be shipped rolled. Cut-outs can be made easily with a cutter”. summarises Jörgen Walch, COO at com2C. The specially hardened surface of the Protect glass laminates ensures high durability and easy cleaning.
Compared to the conventional model made of glass or aluminium dibond, the laminate with the Protect glass protective film is said to have further advantages. Jörgen Walch names the plus points: “Attachment becomes almost child’s play with a suitable, self-adhesive print medium. The rear walls produced are self-adhesive, can be applied in no time at all and can be removed from smooth surfaces – such as the unloved tile backsplash of a rented flat – without leaving any residue.”
As products in the goGreener range, the protective films in high-gloss or matt finishes are PVC-free, according to com2C.
