Konica Minolta AccurioLabel 400 printing system wins Good Design Award

Friday 18. November 2022 - Konica Minoltas AccurioLabel 400 high-speed toner printing system, scheduled for an official launch next spring, is one of five winners for the technology giant in the Japan Institute of Design Promotions Good Design Awards.

The jury’s official citation states that Konica Minolta’s AccurioLabel 400 is an excellent, high-quality product with outstanding ease of use and functionality that has achieved unprecedented production efficiency. The roll unwinding and rewinding of the label web, which protrude dynamically outwards on each side, create a “light impression that is difficult to express in industrial systems”.
The introduction of the new white toner printing at favourable conditions extends the functionality of the AccurioLabel 400. The jury also described the further development of the design compared to the previous model as a “major change in appearance without compromise”. This year Konica Minolta celebrated the 1000th installation of its highly successful AccurioLabel label press range – less than seven years after entering the label market.
“We are very proud to have won a Good Design Award for the AccurioLabel 400, especially six months before its official launch,” explains Mirko Pelzer, Offering Manager Professional Printing at Konica Minolta Germany. “Our first high-end model in the AccurioLabel series has already achieved unprecedented efficiency in operation, even in the high-volume segment. This not only minimises wasted time in print shops, but also significantly reduces operator training time. In particular, Konica Minolta’s Intelligent Quality Care and the IQ-520 will increase ease of use and automation so that label production will benefit from higher quality management. In addition, the introduction of Konica Minolta’s white toner printing will help add value to digital label printing.”
Other Good Design Awards were received by Konica Minolta’s NAGOYA Planetarium and YOKOHAMA Planetarium – each with the introduction of Japan’s first LED dome system “DYNAVISION-LED” – and for two other products. These were a portable gas leak inspection system and a digital X-ray camera in cassette form.
