Launch of pdfToolbox 14 takes place at PDF Days Europe
callas software, a leading provider of automated PDF quality assurance and archiving solutions, will be a Gold Sponsor at this year’s PDF Days Europe. This includes three expert presentations on the topics of PDF/A conversion, variable data printing and new specifications from the Ghent Workgroup. Above all, callas software will use PDF Days Europe 2022 as an opportunity to present its new version 14 of pdfToolbox in a full-day workshop. The PDF Days Europe will take place on 12 and 13 September and the pdfToolbox 14 workshop on the following day at the Novotel Berlin Am Tiergarten.
Dietrich von Seggern, Managing Director of callas software GmbH, points out: “This year’s PDF Days Europe, which the PDF Association is finally able to organise as a presence event again, are the perfect setting to present the major update of pdfToolbox. Interested parties can thus inform themselves compactly over three days about the current developments and trends around the Portable Document Format as well as the innovations of our pdfToolbox 14.”
The new release of callas software’s flagship product includes, among other things, additional options for variable data printing, optimised colour conversion and extended options for using JavaScript to dynamically create checks and corrections of PDF files and for impositioning.
As part of the three expert presentations at the main conference of PDF Days Europe, Akash Choudhary, product manager at callas software, will first report on practical experience on 12 September from 2.15 p.m. and take up the cudgels for switching to PDF/A-2 or PDF/A-4.
On 13 September, David van Driessche, Chief Technical Officer of callas partner Four Pees and Executive Director of the Ghent Workgroup, will discuss the GWG-2022 specifications from 11.00 a.m. onwards and show the implications for graphic designers, printers and software providers.
Directly afterwards, Dietrich von Seggern will give a lecture on variable data printing from 11.45 am. He will focus on the challenges of creating and processing individualised PDF files in customer communication. A working group of the PDF Association recently published a best-practice guide on this topic, which Dietrich von Seggern will present in more detail and on which he will provide background information.
