Mutoh EMEA presents XpertJet Pro series sign and display printers

Thursday 13. January 2022 - Both single-head CMYK printers feature brand new printhead technology, a new printing algorithm and Mutohs original VerteLith RIP software, which significantly increases both print quality and print speed. The XpertJet Pro series printers also feature an automatic alignment function that ensures uninterrupted production and consistent quality.

Mutoh Europe nv, the EMEA business unit of Mutoh Industries Co. Ltd. in Japan, today announced the new generation XPJ-1341SR Pro (54″ – 137 cm) and XPJ-1641SR Pro (64″ – 162 cm) digital inkjet printers. Both single-head CMYK printers feature brand new printhead technology, a new printing algorithm and Mutoh’s original VerteLith RIP software, which significantly increases both print quality and print speed. The XpertJet Pro series printers also feature an automatic alignment function that ensures uninterrupted production and consistent quality.
The XpertJet 1341SR Pro is the successor to the ValueJet 1324X. The XpertJet 1641SR Pro is the successor model to the XpertJet 1641SR.
Mutoh’s XpertJet Pro printers are designed for high-quality mass production of sign and display graphics for long-term outdoor applications and durable indoor prints. Thanks to GREENGUARD Gold certified Mutoh MS31/MS41 inks, indoor prints can also be used in sensitive environments such as schools and hospitals. This extends the application range of this type of printer.
Both models, designed and manufactured in Japan, combine the best of Mutoh’s technologies for drop placement accuracy and thus print quality:
– Mutoh’s new AccuFine extra wide 1600 nozzle printhead.
– i-screen weaving, Mutoh’s fourth generation intelligent weaving Mutoh’s original VerteLith RIP software.
These technologies have been designed to work seamlessly together to provide users with the most accurate drop placement, and they are all included in the new XpertJet Pro. The new print head ensures improved droplet quality and more accurate droplet placement. The i-screen printing algorithms implemented in the Pro-class firmware take advantage of the improved drop quality by suppressing streaking even more. Mutoh’s own new VerteLith Clear Tone Screening takes advantage of printer and printhead enhancements to deliver even better colour gradients and skin tones, even in 4-colour setups, free of any noise.
Crucially, the ability to achieve significant quality and speed benefits over previous generations in all production print modes is a major advantage. Comparing the corresponding print modes, the XPJ-1341SR Pro is up to 212% faster than the VJ-1324X. The XPJ-1641SR Pro is up to 201% faster than the XPJ-1641SR. All this is achieved through the interaction of Mutoh’s proprietary technologies.
The XPJ-1341SR Pro and XPJ-1641SR Pro printers will be distributed by Mutoh Europe throughout the EMEA region through its existing network of certified dealers.
Mutoh XpertJet 1341SR Pro and 1641SR Pro product highlights
– Brand new AccuFine printhead technology on board.
– New generation i-screen weaving further suppresses streaking.
– New VerteLith Clear Tone Screening for best colour gradients and skin tones.
– GREENGUARD Gold certified MS31/MS41 inks:
o Prints can be used indoors, even in sensitive environments such as schools and hospitals.
o UV resistance without lamination for up to 3 years outdoors. For heavy-duty applications with mechanical stress or exposure to the environment (floor, vehicle and marine graphics), lamination is required. Ensure sufficient drying before lamination.
– Mutoh’s original VerteLith RIP software :
o Based on the Harlequin RIP core
o Straightforward and powerful user interface
o Simple workflow
o ICC substrate profiling included
o Powerful preview functions to reduce errors and waste:
? Soft proof before printing
? RIP preview: What you see is what you get.
O Workflow efficiency and finishing tools (crop marks, eyelet marks, automatic and manual tiling, step & repeat functionality, precise multi-page PDF processing, …).
– Motorised media take-up: 20 and 30 kg (XPJ-1341SR-P); 30, 40 and 100 kg (XPJ-1641SR-P)
– Unrivalled user support to save time and waste:
o Automatic bi-directional alignment.
o Automatic media feed adjustment.
o Automatic indication of remaining linear metres on a media roll by barcode printing/scanning.
o Nozzle Area Select allows nozzle areas on the head to be deactivated to continue production.
o The 1641SR-P can be equipped with an optional automatic nozzle check unit: The printer automatically detects missing nozzles, attempts to repair them by cleaning and, if necessary, automatically activates the Nozzle Area Select function to continue production without operator intervention.
