BOBST Engineers install VISION K5 at Stenta Group During Height of Pandemic
Monday 04. October 2021 - Even a global pandemic doesnt stop BOBST from serving their customers. In Q1 2021 during the peak of the second wave of Covid-19 in Malaysia, a team of engineers installed Stenta Groups new BOBST VISION K5 2450 with final acceptance taking place on the customers site in Q2.
Stenta Group is one of the leading flexible packaging film manufacturers of BOPP and LLDPE. The Group located in Malaysia began operating in 1993. In addition to the production facilities in Malaysia, the company also has a sister company, P.T. Argha Karya based in Indonesia. Stenta Group produces a wide range of quality BOPP and LLDPE films for a variety of applications for categories including food, beverages and pharmaceutical. Products are exported to Asia, Middle East, Africa, South America and Europe.
The new BOBST VISION K5 is equipped with BOBST AluBond and AlOx for the production of opaque and clear high barrier BOPP, LLDPE and other substrates. The machine is Stentas first metallizer after they decided to bring the process in-house to create added value for their film lines and to provide high barrier solutions to their customers.
BOBST AluBond on BOPP
The BOBST AluBond process which was initially developed to increase metal adhesion on most substrates is now being more widely in the industry on polyolefins and is becoming the industry standard for polyolefin based PP substrates. The process provides an enhanced barrier performance in terms of both oxygen (OTR) and water vapor (WVTR) on BOPP as well as excellent adhesion levels and dyne level retention. AluBond is also being used in the market to produce high barrier metallized mono-materials in response to the market requirements in terms of sustainability.
