MCC Wins 2 Awards at the 2021 FINAT Label Competition

Friday 09. July 2021 - They did this by having a virtual meeting so their judges could collaborate on which winners to select. MCC is proud to announce that of the 222 entries from 46 companies (representing 27 countries), MCC won 2 awards for our Wine & Spirits labels.

Despite having an unusual past year with label industry events being changed and cancelled, FINAT carried on with their annual competition as close to normal as possible.
Group E Digital – E1 Toner Technology
Cape Fynbos Gin from MCC Paarl, South Africa
B4 Reel-Fed Offset Lithography
Valley of Mother of God from MCC Montreal, Canada
The Cape Fynbos Gin label is described from FINAT as being an extremely well printed label that appears to be a set of stamps at first sight, but in fact the “perforations” are created using a gloss tactile varnish. The content of the label depicts a biome of plants found in South Africa and are characterized by a diverse richness of endemic plant species. Each plant is named for identification. This label is printed digitally in four colors with a high gloss spot varnish on the plants and the main title.
The Valley of Mother of God label is described from FINAT as a clean looking, well printed label. It uses 5 colors with offset lithography to achieve the quality result required for this product. A fairy tale image is used to emphasize the simplicity of the gin. A whole raft of converting techniques including hot stamping, de-bossing and a very special die-cutting format all contribute to the effectiveness of this label. The gold seal adds that extra touch of class to the end result.
