The RE100 Leadership Awards, presented for the first time, recognise the leading role of member companies in accelerating the transition to 100 percent renewable energy. The winners will be announced and honored at the RE100 Members Forum on September 23rd during Climate Week NYC, which will be held online from September 21st to 27th. The Leadership Awards are presented in six categories, with Ricoh nominated in the “Most Collaborative Leader” category. This category recognizes companies that actively share their experiences with like-minded people to help accelerate the transition to 100% renewable energy.
Ricoh is a founding member and only Japanese company of the newly formed RE100 Advisory Committee and a founding member of the Japan Climate Leaders’ Partnership (JCLP), the Japanese partner of RE100. In addition to the Ricoh CEO’s keynote address at Climate Week NYC 2018, the company recently announced its support for the United Nations Global Compact (“Uniting Business and Governments to Recover Better”) and is actively engaged in disseminating information and working together to achieve this goal.
Ricoh is working to solve social problems through its business activities in order to strive for a sustainable society in line with the three Ps – “Prosperity, People and Planet” (Prosperity, People/Social Responsibility and Planet/Environmental Protection). Based on this basic concept, Ricoh has identified seven key issues, including “achieving a carbon-free society”, which have been integrated into its business strategy. Ricoh will continue to contribute to the realisation of a carbon-free society by accelerating energy saving and renewable energy initiatives and by offering digital services for the new world of work under the slogan “New Ways of Working”.
