Flint Group Packaging Inks presents at FTA SGP webinar on Sustainability on August 26, 2020

Thursday 20. August 2020 - Entitled Im not Trash: Designing Inks & Coatings for a Sustainable Future, Sustainability Product Manager, Natalie Jardell, and Director of Product Management and Development, Gayle Wirthwine, both who work within Flint Group Packaging Inks North America, will talk to the role of inks and packaging as it pertains to both the planet and its people.

Flint Group Packaging Inks will present its views on the importance of designing inks and coatings for a circular economy, at an upcoming Flexographic Technical Association (FTA) webinar on August 26 – jointly hosted by the FTA and Sustainable Green Partnership (SGP).
Natalie Jardell said, “Packaging sustainability has become an increasingly important issue in recent years and consumers are concerned about its role in waste and pollution. Today they, along with Governments, NGOs and industry in general, are seeking ways to achieve a more circular economy. As a result, brands and their supply chains are investing in new and innovative ways to meet the needs of society and the environment, today and into the future. We can think about this in terms of transforming what is often perceived as trash into the goods of tomorrow!”
Gayle Wirthwine added: “At Flint Group Packaging Inks we have a sustainability vision that commits us to support packaging markets with responsibly built products and sustainable solutions designed for circular economies. This webinar is a fantastic opportunity for us to share our findings in developing new process and product solutions that meet the principles of the United Nations Global Compact and its Sustainable Development Goals.
“We will be sharing insight on inks and coating developments that can address a variety of environmental needs. This includes a look at cradle to cradle processes, the differences between biodegradable and compostable products, the benefit of reusable solvents, and other technological aspects related to inks and coatings. We will also delve into the various stages of recycling processes.
“By supporting this webinar, our intent is to demonstrate practical and easy to understand examples of where designing inks and coatings responsibly can truly make a difference to delivering a future sustainable society.”
This webinar is free of charge and will take place at 11 a.m. ET on Wednesday August 26th.
