Heidelberg #We4You

Friday 15. May 2020 - Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) has responded as quickly as possible to the difficult conditions caused by the global corona pandemic and is doing its utmost to support its customers in the packaging, label and commercial printing sectors. The company is promoting the search for creative and flexible solutions at all levels. This is how for example the series Expert Talk with Print Media Center Atlanta came to life, where, starting the first week of May, first-hand expert knowledge is shared by the employees at Heidelberg USA. There are also examples of customers and stories of how they are meeting the crisis with creative and flexible solutions.

Heidelberg is now collecting all resources, stories and tools around the corona crisis under the hashtag We4You. Learn more about what the Heidelberg colleagues are doing across the globe to support customers, or even about how our customers are supporting each other. Simply visit the Heidelberg website at www.heidelberg.com/en/we4you and social media channels and look for the hashtag We4You.
Wherever possible, Heidelberg also provides local help during these times. For some time now, Geiger Notes AG has been producing consumables in alcohol-reduced mode at its Schwäbisch-Hall site using a Speedmaster 106 with Saphira. The global supply bottleneck for isopropyl alcohol required rapid action. Here, a rapid switch to IPA-free printing ensured seamless production. “We are always by our customers’ side and as their partners, we are convinced that we will master this time together with them,” emphasizes Rainer Hundsdörfer, CEO of Heidelberg.
If direct access to print shops is difficult, the digital link from Heidelberg to customers’ presses is now paying off. “Our digital interfaces to print shops around the world are bearing fruit in helping our customers in the best possible way in their daily work,” explains Rainer Hundsdörfer. “In times of the corona pandemic, the health and safety of our customers and our employees is our top priority. We are therefore focusing even more strongly on the proven and long-established Remote Service and the Heidelberg Assistant,” continues Hundsdörfer.
At the pulse of the printing industry
In order to assess the situation in the industry, Heidelberg publishes weekly updates on the development of print volumes for the packaging and label printing and commercial printing market segments. “The new Print Media Industry Climate Report puts us at the pulse of our customers,” says Rainer Hundsdörfer. “The overview of the weekly climate in the printing industry was developed to support printing companies during the Corona pandemic in particular. It is important for all participants in the printing industry to understand which market segments and countries are currently most affected. We are publishing this information without access restrictions to set an example for the industry and are looking forward to exchanging information with printing associations and partners worldwide. Together we are mastering this crisis”.
