CCE International 2021

Tuesday 07. April 2020 - Production technology for the most frequently recycled material in the world: Europes corrugated board and folding box industry will meet next year in Munich for its most important industry event

From 9 to 11 March 2021 the international corrugated board and folding carton industry will meet at the Munich exhibition centre for the 5th edition of CCE International, Europe’s only trade fair for production technology for the manufacture of corrugated board and cardboard. The entire production chain of solid board and corrugated board manufacturing will be on show, including raw materials and supplies, machines and components, and related services. The aim is to significantly improve production processes and products and thus generate added value. In 2019, the trade fair recorded a significant increase in visitors of 13 % and once again highlighted the increased demand and enormous growth potential of the corrugated board and folding carton market.
The unstoppable advance of online trading and the continuing public demand for more sustainable packaging solutions and a recycling economy are helping the corrugated board and folding carton industry to new heights. Paper-based products are now the most widely recycled products in the world; cardboard and paperboard boxes are becoming increasingly popular with both brand manufacturers and consumers and have long been the most widely used transport packaging for online purchases.
The latest market figures confirm the bright prospects for the corrugated and folding carton industry, which offers countless opportunities and possibilities in a wide range of industries and markets. However, no company should rest on its laurels, especially as customer requirements are changing faster than ever. Corrugated board and folding carton manufacturers continue to face intense competition from suppliers of alternative packaging materials. Investments in modern machinery and equipment are the key to long-term success, especially with regard to packaging design and properties.
“Sustainability, versatility, printability and good transport protection are among the key requirements for packaging today, especially with regard to marketing and brand presence,” explains Liljana Goszdziewski, Exhibition Director of CCE International. “Added to this is the increasing acceleration in the retail sector, where there is a high demand for digitalised packaging and customisable products. Many conventional production methods can no longer keep up, so corrugated board and folding carton manufacturers are increasingly investing in tailor-made product and converting solutions to bring their production lines up to date. In particular, fast machines, digital solutions and a high level of automation and connectivity are required to solve production problems in often very complex conversion, printing and finishing processes”.
Adapting technologies to current market requirements is an ongoing process in which CCE International plays a significant role as an established, highly specialised industry platform. This is where suppliers of new equipment, materials and services can meet face-to-face with buyers and users, both from the corrugated and folding carton industries and from markets served by it. These include in particular the transport and logistics, packaging, printing, food and beverages, furniture, electronics, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics sectors.
Exhibitors at CCE International benefit from a top-class trade audience, with over 90% of visitors involved in purchasing decisions. Every second visitor comes with concrete investment plans. The high success rate in opening up new markets and profitable business opportunities is also reflected in the figures of current trade fair surveys: more than 90% of CCE exhibitors stated that they had received concrete business enquiries and had achieved all or part of the objectives of their last participation in the fair.
On all three days: Open seminars on the latest technology and market trends
The popular CCE Open Seminar Sessions will again take place on all three days of the event. Case studies, technical presentations and panel discussions will focus on the latest trends and topics in the corrugated and folding carton industry, such as digital solutions, different printing methods, value creation and sustainability, improved quality control and specific converting and finishing applications. Exhibitors and industry experts are invited to apply as seminar speakers to present their solution concepts to an international audience of decision-makers from a wide range of industry sectors. Participation in the open seminars is free for exhibitors and visitors.
Sensible trade fair combination: ICE Europe and InPrint Munich are held parallel to CCE International
As in previous years, CCE International will be held in parallel with ICE Europe, the leading international exhibition for converting and converting flexible web materials such as paper, film, foil and nonwovens. ICE Europe 2019 was attended by 463 exhibitors from 25 countries. A total of 7,150 processing and packaging specialists from important international key industries visited the show.
For the first time, InPrint Munich, the international trade fair for printing technology for use in industrial production, was held in parallel to CCE International. InPrint Munich presents integrable, intelligent printing solutions for industrial production processes, with a trade audience of almost 3,000 industry experts and a very popular three-day conference program. Digital printing for labelling and packaging design is one of the central themes of the fair.
The simultaneous staging of three established trade fairs, which focus specifically on conversion and printing technologies in industrial production processes, creates a comprehensive event platform with additional opportunities and strong synergies for both exhibitors and visitors.
