Mitsubishi HiTec Paper presents two innovations at Labelexpo Europe 2019

Wednesday 14. August 2019 - At Labelexpo Europe 2019, Mitsubishi HiTec Paper is presenting a wide range of coated specialty papers for the label and packaging market with two innovations in its luggage. The product innovations: jetscript METAL VPG 1018, a metallic-silver glossy inkjet paper for water-based inkjet printing of self-adhesive labels. As well as barricote BAG WGOM, a fully recyclable barrier paper for flexible food packaging with multi-barrier against water vapour, fatoil, oxygenaroma and mineral oil migration.

The new jetscript METAL VPG 1018 (110 g) is a pure fibre based paper product with a silver metallic mirror finish and a transparent, microporous inkjet coating for excellent printing performance. The inkjet paper is characterised by high print image density, fast drying, compatibility with latex inks and optimum performance in the self-adhesive production process. “This makes it particularly suitable for eye-catching and high-quality labels in the beverage, cosmetics and food sectors. But also for other applications such as gift wrapping paper, advertising panels and displays,” says Nic Holmer, Director Sales of the Bielefeld-based specialty paper manufacturer.
With the new barricote BAG WGOM (89 g), Mitsubishi is launching a particularly sustainable barrier paper for flexible food packaging on the market that shines with a universal multi-barrier. “It not only protects food and consumers against water vapour, fat/oil and oxygen/aroma, but also against mineral oil migration (MOSH / MOAH), and thus offers particularly broad barrier protection,” adds Nic Holmer. In addition, BAG WGOM is very heat-sealable and approved for direct food contact. The paper product made of fresh fibres is 100% free of plastic films, aluminium and fluorocarbon, fully recyclable and recyclable, and FSC or PEFCTM certified.
At Labelexpo Europe, Mitsubishi will also be exhibiting a comprehensive range of coated specialty papers for the label market:
Thermoscript thermal papers, e.g. for linerless applications, with particularly high heat resistance or with reverse side protection coating
Jetscript inkjet papers, e.g. as light 70 g version, for ticket and tag applications or with embossed surface
Supercote cast-coated label papers, e.g. for wet glue labels, winding cans and cap boxes
