TagG Informatique invests in Truepress

Tuesday 09. October 2018 - Screen is excited to announce that cross media marketing, transactional and personalised printing company, TagG Informatique, has invested in a Truepress Jet520HD machine, citing industry-leading print quality and cost-effectiveness as major reasons behind the acquisition. The company has experienced a ten percent increase in turnover to its direct marketing activities whilst saving up to two weeks lead time with the integration of Screen technology in-house, having installed the press in March 2018.

Based in Entrelacs, near Annecy, TagG Informatique has offered printing, transactional printing and marketing services since its inception in 1991. Its activities include the printing of commercial collateral, brochures, leaflets whilst also providing transactional printing in the form of account statements and other administrative documents. With a diverse client-base, customers include banks, insurers, media, chains and commercial branches, with activity split between national French work (80%) and international exports (20%).
Before using Screen technology, TagG Informatique would subcontract the production of its pre-press documents that they would then personalise in black. Only short run jobs were printed digitally using toner technology. Hervé Lesseur, the Founder of TagG Informatique, explains, “The toner ink quality was acceptable but expensive, meaning that if the client required a high printing resolution, beautiful photos, two-sided documents or a personalised document, we had to accept paying more than we wanted to. Also, the toner system was not suitable for high volume projects.”
TagG Informatique looked for an alternative and saw the benefits of high scale digital printing of a high quality. Lesseur continues, “After extensive research we saw digital printing as the next step in our evolution, most notably with the Screen Jet520HD press and the new SC inks. There is no equivalent technology that is operational and readily available in the market. Crucially, we can save up to two weeks of lead time on an operation following the switch to Screen’s solution. We have even received requests from existing clients that they wouldn’t send us before.”
The Screen Truepress Jet520HD is a high-definition inkjet web press with a true print resolution of 1,200 dpi and precise droplet size control at up to 150 metres per minute. The Truepress Jet520HD achieves the colours, textures, details and solid ink areas expected for high-end publication and commercial work.
Lesseur continues, “We have clients saying they have never seen such a quality finish with digital printing before, and the result is similar to offset printing. And I would agree! The print quality is equally comparable with offset and it is cost-effective for the long-term prosperity of the company. The Screen Truepress Jet520HD is an ‘offset killer’, we’re getting great print quality at a fast-rate, we can personalise and it’s commercially viable.”
Thomas Lossec, Screen Europe Sales Director, Print-On-Demand Inkjet, France, states, “It is hugely positive that TagG Informatique are able to capitalise on the instant benefits Screen technology provides. They are a well-established company and our aim is for Screen’s presence to continue to grow in France so that more fruitful relationships like this can prosper.”
