Manage the flood of information automatically, safely and in conformity with the law

Friday 21. September 2018 - Many companies are in the grip of information chaos: Much content is produced, stored and distributed at different locations. With the new Content Services focal area, DCX Digital Content Expo bundles technical trends and discussions on this topic, as these developments are highly relevant to the success especially of companies that base their business on high-quality content.

Information management is at present undergoing a transformation. “Since 20 years Enterprise Content Management (ECM) has been the message of industry and analysts. The rapid innovations in IT and communication technology are now changing the scene. Will Enterprise Information Management, Intelligent Information Management, Digital Workplace or Content Services be the banner of the industry?”, asks Dr. Ulrich Kampffmeyer, Managing Director of PROJECT CONSULT Unternehmensberatung GmbH, in the announcement of his keynote lecture that he will give on the new DCX Content Services and Content Marketing stage. On Wednesday, 10 October 2018, as co-initiator of the new exhibition area, he will launch the programme focus topic with an overview of the history, current status and important changes in this sector. In addition, he has succeeded in bringing international luminaries in this field to the exhibition for digital content in Berlin.
Time for new, intelligent approaches
Greg Milliken, Senior Vice President of Marketing at M-Files, in his lecture will further develop this topic introduced as a common thread running through the programme by Kampffmeyer: Conventional Enterprise Content Management systems that concentrate on a single, central system are outmoded. The future will belong to technology permitting users to access information from any device – when they need it, how they need it, no matter where the information is stored. “Artificial Intelligence helps to automate and simplify daily tasks, giving users the possibility to concentrate on what is really important”, says Milliken. In his presentation he will show how intelligent information management can provide a competitive edge.
In his lecture, Richard Reed, VP Research and Development of Theum AG, will focus on the possibilities and operating methods of AI in this area and explain how it can be used to enhance business agility. Another guest on the stage will be Dr. Olaf Holst, Chief Technology Evangelist at Optimal Systems. He will describe strategies for migrating existing solutions from on-premise to cloud or hybrid cloud scenarios. “How businesses can digitise customer processes” is the chosen topic of Dieter Weißhaar, CEO of Easy Software AG. Taking the example of after-sales processes “in the field”, he will show agile ways to achieve a successful transformation.
The future of information management offers much material for discussion
To conclude the programme of the second exhibition day, decision-makers from the technology departments of publishing houses as well as other companies for which content is a central success factor are invited to participate in a podium discussion: acronyms and technical terms dominate the industry in relation to information management. Which trends are the ones to watch? Dr. Kampffmeyer will nail down the panellists to clear statements. Morad Rhlid, Managing Director of SER Solutions International, and Dr. Hanns Köhler-Krüner, Managing Vice President Content Insight & Legal of Gartner Deutschland GmbH, will discuss with the previous lecturers.
“With the new focus we wish to highlight how the topic is developing further under the term ‘Content Services'”, says Dr. Ulrich Kampffmeyer. “We need to build a bridge between more traditional ECM and the concept of content services that do not stop at simple content administration. Digitisation and automation, steering creative production and distribution towards content marketing, the bringing together of all persons involved in the companies, will be topics for discussion – no more and no less”, says Dr. Ulrich Kampffmeyer.
