Labelexpo Americas and TLMI extend 25 year partnership

Monday 17. September 2018 - Labelexpo Global Series are pleased to confirm the continuation of over 25 years of partnership working with TLMI, which extends TLMIs position as Co-Sponsor of Labelexpo Americas for another 10 years.

In that time, TLMI and Labelexpo Global Series have collaborated on the Labelexpo Americas event, now the region’s largest event of its kind and the second largest in the Labelexpo Global Series portfolio. Lisa Milburn, managing director for Labelexpo Global Series, said:
“Our longstanding partnership with TLMI since 1992 has proved to be one of our most valuable over the quarter century we’ve been working together, so it felt right to mark this milestone by formalizing our future long-term collaboration. TLMI plays a vital role in steering the labels and package printing industry, and with their support and member insight we have been able to build Labelexpo Americas into the extremely successful event we see today.
“This is an industry that doesn’t stand still however, and we look forward to working with TLMI and its members well into the next 25 years, with its unrivalled position at the forefront of this industry, to drive it ever forwards, innovate and educate. Our collaboration will help ensure that Labelexpo Americas remains as fresh and relevant as ever.”
TLMI will be opening the press conference schedule at this year’s Labelexpo Americas, now in its 16th edition.  Association president Dan Muenzer will be speaking about industry trends along with sharing information about TLMI’s proprietary brand owner survey report, at 9.45am-10.15am on Tuesday 25th September. He will be joined by LPC Inc. principals Jennifer Dochstader and David Walsh. TLMI will also be coordinating the Ecovillage zone at the show for the first time, which is designed to raise awareness of sustainability in the sector. Muenzer said:
“We are delighted to continue as the Official Co-Sponsor of Labelexpo Americas for the next decade. The show is a vital platform for not only showcasing the latest trends in a continually innovating industry, but also raising awareness of the key challenges it faces. We are seeing some truly exciting trends emerging through our members, including developments in automation, digital printing and hybrid presses. However, sustainability is also of increasing concern, and one of our core objectives is leading the way in reducing the volume of matrix and liner becoming waste.
“We hope that through the TLMI Ecovillage at the show, visitors can gain a better understanding of the issues, which can only be tackled successfully if the industry works together. We are very much looking forward to this year’s Labelexpo Americas and many beyond it.”
As well as showcasing the latest sustainable products at the TLMI Ecovillage, the waste matrix collected from the live press demonstrations over the course of the show will be brought to the TLMI Ecovillage and baled. Visitors can see live demonstrations of the process. The material will then be sent to Convergen Energy who will make the waste into fuel pellets, which have a lower carbon footprint than fossil fuels.
The TLMI Ecovillage will also be hosting a session each day of the show tackling the big myths surrounding sustainable packaging and what converters should really be concerned about. This includes recycling, the new plastics economy and sustainable materials management.
