The Passauer Neue Presse launches alfa Medias shop-portal WebStore

Thursday 16. August 2018 - The Passauer Neue Presse GmbH (PNP) is a regional newspaper of the Verlagsgruppe Passau GmbH and is based in the three-river city of Passau, where the Danube, Inn and Ilz converge at the top of the town.

The PNP Group is publisher of the Passauer Neue Presse, as well as 20 further local editions, which also publishes several weeklies in addition to the daily newspapers. With its local editions, PNP reaches over 475,000 readers in Bavaria every day. Due to its holdings in Germany and Poland, the Verlagsgruppe Passau is one of the largest publishers of regional newspapers in Europe. In recent years, additional acquisitions were added. For example, the Trostberger Tagblatt, the Traunreuter Anzeiger and the Altbayerische Heimatpost were acquired. The shares in the Südostbayerischen Rundschau were completely taken overIn 2014, the Passauer Neue Presse further expanded its position in Upper Bavaria and took over the Reichenhaller Tagblatt and the Freilassinger Anzeiger. The Donaukurier in Ingolstadt has also been part of the media group since last year.
For the future processing of the advertising market, PNP has decided to introduce a further development of the shop portal by alfa Media already in use. With the new alfa WebStore, the focus for the user is on designing the ad. Through simple and user-friendly design of the interface, the user is guided through the ordering process without losing the focus on the ad
design. The user should enjoy designing the ad, business card, wedding card, flyer, and more. Based on current store designs, alfa WebStore combines straightforward navigation with clear theme worlds and easy-to-learn structures. The menu navigation is simple and self-explanatory. Excellent results can be achieved without any training period. The results are immediately visible and usable. Furthermore the design is responsive and therefore also suitable for mobile devices. The publisher can adapt the user interface according to the corporate design via GUI and CSS. One of the strengths of the new concept lies in the possibilities of upselling. Once a decision has been made for a desired design, one or more alternatives to the desired article are offered before buying.
In the alfa WebStore, this functionality for ads, business cards and flyers is automatic, comfortable and system-supported by a server process. Already created texts are transferred 1: 1 and transferred into the upselling pattern. Due to the integration of the HTML5 editor alfa Stylo, the user can design the ad in WYSIWYG mode. At any time, the user can switch to other ad layouts without losing his text input. The integration of common payment platforms (eg PayPal) is just as possible as the known payment methods by direct debit.
