SGI Dubai to honour creative campaigns

Friday 13. October 2017 - Participants at SGI Dubai 2018, the largest printing, signage and imaging exhibition in the Middle East, will have the opportunity to showcase their most creative campaigns on the Wall of Fame at the event.

Abdul Rahman Falaknaz, chairman of event organisers International Expo Consults LLC (IEC) part of Falak Holding, said: “Every year our exhibitors have new creatives rolled out using the latest that technology has to offer. Some that even could be featured in an art gallery. We just want the world to appreciate their creations and recognize and applaud their ingenuity in our own unique way. The previous edition of ‘Wall of Fame’ received encouraging response from the participants, exhibitors and the visitors to the show. We expect an even bigger participation for our 2018 edition.”

Artwork submission and other specifications: This opportunity is open to all the exhibitors participating in SGI Dubai 2018. The size of the canvas should be 4ft by 3ft and should be the best creative that one can showcase. A brief explanation of the work needs to be mentioned at the bottom of the artwork. The wooden/metal panel (not weighing more than 8-10 kilograms) should have a provision at the back of the frame to hang the artwork on the ‘Wall of Fame’. The artwork shouldn’t have a glass frame as there is a tendency that it might break in transit.

Judging the entries: The winners of the ‘Wall of Fame’ will be decided by an independent panel of judges, reactions from SGI Dubai’s social media pages and also with the help of the visitors attending the show. All entries to the competition would have to be developed in between January 2017 and December of 2017, and all exhibitors at the show are urged to participate. Participants need to send in the images by December 1via email to enter the SGI Dubai social media platforms. The exhibitors should install the final creative on the ‘wall of fame’ during the previous night of the show.

“Year after year SGI Dubai has been growing in size and attendance. Last year we witnessed more than 400 exhibitors bring the latest in technology from 36 countries spread over an area of 22,000 sq m. The ‘Wall of Fame’ is our way of appreciating all the work done by the very best in the industry. It also provides the exhibitors with a platform to showcase their creative abilities to the visitors and other stakeholders,” added Sharif Rahman, CEO, IEC.

SGI Dubai is bringing exhibitors and visitors from North America, Europe, Asia and the Mena region. The exhibition is expected to receive thousands of visitors from different countries and they are set to witness the industry’s latest products and trends. The SGI Dubai 2018 show would be held from January 14 – 16, 2018 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Sign and Graphic Imaging Dubai (SGI Dubai) is an ideal converging point where visitors and exhibitors can reach out with architects, sign makers, print and production manufacturers, media agencies, real-estate developers, brand and image consultants among others. The event is a well-established business forum, which is recognised globally and constitutes workshops and seminars held by industry experts.
