Thibault Bergeron acquires its first HP Indigo 30000 digital press to help it better manage and customise its packaging

Monday 04. September 2017 - Thibault Bergeron, which has been creating packaging since 1890 and is based in Muzillac in Brittany, acquired an HP Indigo 30000 in June 2017. Its aim is to develop its digital resources to adapt to an ever-changing packaging market, as well as bring more flexibility and agility to its orders and stocks.

Thibault Bergeron is the result of a merger between two companies: Établissements Bergeron – founded in Paris in 1890, and the Thibault packaging company – founded in 1947 in Muzillac, near Vannes. Thibault Bergeron specialises in creating, designing, producing and customising cardboard packaging with high added value, and its clients include chocolate makers, pastry makers and winegrowers.

Thibault Bergeron wanted a digital press that could print with inks that are certified for indirect contact with foodstuffs, affording the company flexibility in its low-quantity orders and stocks.

The HP Indigo 30000 digital press seemed the logical choice if it wanted to innovate. The enhanced customisation options, more effective stock management functions and rapid printing capabilities have all helped Thibault Bergeron improve the range of services it provides, giving it complete control over small print runs on all types of paper and cardboard.

“Our clients want more speed and flexibility in the way we produce their packaging. They are no longer prepared to commit to excessively high quantities and now demand the highest levels of responsiveness to deliver as fast as possible. So we had to adapt to this reality, and the purchase of an HP Indigo 30000 became a necessity, particularly to provide our clients with more creative packaging that we could produce in smaller quantities, using inks that had been certified for indirect contact with foodstuffs,”says Franz Thibault, CEO of Thibault Bergeron.

But it was also in a bid to diversify that Thibault Bergeron was interested in acquiring the HP Indigo 30000, in order to establish a presence on markets with more added value.

Their decision was strongly influenced by DSCOOP – the community of companies which use HP presses – and has delighted their employees, who view the acquisition as an opportunity for them to remain “packaging designers”: “Fashion and trends are constantly changing – let’s take advantage of this reality with the HP Indigo 30000,” says Franz Thibault.
