Two trade fair premires for Follmann

Thursday 30. March 2017 - For the first time, the Minden company is showcasing its products and services for the packaging industry at interpack in Düsseldorf and at Empack ins-Hertogenbosch in the Netherlands.

Follmann now has two trade fair premières lined up – in April and May: before the Minden company sets up its stand at interpack in Düsseldorf (Hall FG SÜD, Stand IPP7) from 4 – 10 May, it will first be premièring its products at Empack in ?s-Hertogenbosch in Holland (Hall 1, Stand A106) on 5 and 6 April. At these trade fairs, Follmann will be unveiling its innovative new adhesive range – FOLCO MELT ProPack. Visitors to the trade fairs will also be able to take a closer look at Follmann’s water-based printing inks and find out more about its customised services.
Safe and high-quality packaging and the use of non-toxic products are particularly important when it comes to food production. With its low-migration hot-melt adhesives free of hazard labelling requirements and its water-based printing inks, Follmann offers the packaging industry products that meet all these demands.
Trade fair première: the adhesive range FOLCO MELT ProPack
Follmann will be presenting its new adhesive range FOLCO MELT ProPack at both Empack and interpack. These polyolefin and EVA-based adhesives are not subject to hazard labelling requirements and are low-migration and non-toxic. The choice of a suitable adhesive depends on the actual area of application and its respective requirements. The FOLCO MELT ProPack 60 adhesive has been specially developed for deep-freeze packaging and has already been successfully tried and tested in the field, such as in the deep-freeze packaging for the fish and seafood specialities of the Mecklenburg company, FEMEG Produktions- und Vertriebs GmbH. Ideally suited for application with nozzles, the new adhesive boasts outstanding cohesive properties, high initial strength and a particularly long open time. The adhesive not only easily withstands temperatures as low as -40°C, but also meets the challenges posed by thermal loads and condensation by offering safe and reliable adhesion. Even at high application speeds, the adhesive enables the thread-free and accurate application of adhesive dots.
For its deep-freeze packaging, FEMEG Produktions- und Vertriebs GmbH relies on the new hot-melt adhesive FOLCO MELT ProPack 60 from Follmann.

The concept of sustainability is also gaining considerable ground when it comes to the production of packaging. This is why Follmann’s FOLCO AQUAFLEX printing ink systems, which have been specially developed for flexographic and gravure printing on pre-treated plastic films, such as PE, PP, PET, PA and OPP, are particularly suitable for packaging printing. The Follmann ink ranges, which are characterised by their brilliant colours, excellent dot sharpness and good adhesion, are available for both frontal printing – including on compostable films – and reverse printing (composite films). The use of water-based printing inks offer significant advantages for the production process. While thermal exhaust air cleaning (afterburning) is needed when using solvent-based inks, this disposal process is not required for water-based printing inks as they are thinned only with water. They are therefore not only making an important contribution towards environmental protection, but also helping to reduce costs. Further advantages of water-based printing inks are the fact that, compared to solvent inks, they offer better cover, are highly resistant to wetness-related creases and significantly reduce signs of wear and tear on the printing block. They also ensure constant ink viscosity, thanks to easy re-emulsification during the printing process.
