MEECH TO ADDRESS CONVERTING INDUSTRY’S STATIC CONTROL AND WEB CLEANING NEEDS AT ICE EUROPE 2017

Wednesday 11. January 2017 - Meech International plans to use ICE Europe (21-23 March, Hall A6 - Stand 233) as a platform for demonstrating the fundamental role that web cleaning and static control systems play in the converting industry. The stand will feature Meech’s popular range of Hyperion ionising bars, as well as its comprehensive array of web cleaning technologies.

“Meech International routinely incorporates customer feedback when designing systems for static control and web cleaning applications. This means our customers in the converting industry can rest assured that our products will answer their specific needs,” explains Area Manager, Ralph Simon. “Whether it’s developing our static bars for specific OEMs or designing web cleaners that incorporate fluid dynamic principles to achieve higher levels of cleanliness, we are constantly improving the overall quality of our products and services.”

Ralph reveals that Meech has its eye on the future and that ICE Europe represents an ideal opportunity to discuss some of the latest trends that are shaping the converting industry. “One of the areas we’re looking into is Industry 4.0, and more specifically interoperability,” he explains. “The ability to have machines, devices and operators that connect and communicate with one another via the web is extremely valuable. We recognise the opportunities this brings and we are currently exploring the ways this technology can be harnessed for static control systems.”

Visitors to the stand will be invited to view first-hand the complete range of Hyperion static control systems, which comprises the popular 971IPS, 924IPS and 929IPS pulsed DC ionising bars. The Hyperion range provides industry leading static elimination, with the bars’ default settings allowing quick and easy installation for use on converting lines.

Also on display at the show will be Meech’s complete range of web cleaning systems, which includes the TakClean and CyClean. The TakClean is a contact web cleaner featuring specifically formulated TransTak elastomer contact cleaning rollers and perforated adhesive rolls. The CyClean is a compact non-contact system, with an optimised cleaning efficiency that allows the removal of contamination to below 1 micron. The web cleaner can handle virtually any substrate.

“The need to minimise wastage and achieve higher levels of productivity is a key priority for converters,” explains Ralph. “This goal can only be achieved if one capitalises on the strengths of highly efficient contact and non-contact web-cleaning systems.”

He concludes: “We look forward not only to highlighting the features and benefits of our products to stand visitors, but also to discussing the latest trends and innovations in the converting industry and how these apply to static control and web cleaning.”
